I Am What I Am

This sweater is called 'Land's End Labyrinth' and I knitted it with a circular needle so both sides are seamless. My friend on 360 and I decided to seal our friendship with presenting each a gift of our own handicraft. I decided to knit a jumper. Remembering what my father would say whenever my siblings and I mishandled our belongings inspired me to write a poem on the biography of a sweater. This are the exact words and advise of my father; 'Put yourselves in it's place. Will you want to be thrown everywhere? Respect your belongings and in turn you'll never lose them'. I dedicate this poem to my dear beloved father for loving everything in life and for letting me see things alive. I was knitted from balls of yarn A sweater for a cold winter month On the coldest of seasons I will be worn To be embraced by my warmth For I will wrap you bodily from the chill of the night To keep you cuddled and comfy through the night One day at the break of dawn When the cold winter month is gone And the sky has a warm glow I will be needed no more For the sun that peeks through the sky Slowly and generously spreading it's warmth from high I will be discarded To the bottom of the closet For my duty is done And my loneliness has begun Till the next cold winter month For I am what I am my origin from a yarn
