Three days ago, Mali and I were stopped in traffic. I had all the windows rolled down as it was not very hot out and there was a nice breeze. Mali was enjoying flirting with the people in the car next to us when she heard the sirens of a fire truck. My family and I have been displaced from our home as we had a large amount of water damage which caused mold. We have lived for a few weeks in a hotel. This past week we took all three of our girls to Northern NY to a dog show as Rani was competing, and my husband and I had a few seminars to take. Time has passed since the storm rumbled through and Ginger entered our lives soaked to the skin, wounded, and bleeding. The vet did the blood work making sure the kitten did not have feline leukemia or aids so it could stay with us and not put our other elderly kitties in jeopardy. Yuki came to us as a surprise. We went to a show with Mali and our new puppy Rani here in NC. When we left that morning I told Steve, my husband I heard Mali tell Rani, every time we pack the car like this we are getting another puppy. A while ago, after a terrible thunderstorm ended we heard the sounds of a distressed cry. It was nearly midnight and Steve and I had not yet gone to bed as we were enjoying the cool calm the storm had brought when it left.
